Reelin it in

Mason's friend George had a terrific 3rd birthday party at a fish farm upon our return from Cannon Beach. I don't think I've ever seen such dramatic expressions from Mason - especially elation as he caught and reeled in a fish. The kids were all pretty patient waiting for the fish to bite and loved all of the fish-themed goodies that the Herrmann's provided afterwards. It was fun catching up with the Kappa gals in attendance, and thankfully, the weather cooperated.

Cannon Beach Trip - 2010

After a crazy few months of being back to work, juggling full-time work and both kids and a very busy summer, we decided to take a week and head down to one of our favorite spots - the Oregon coast. My cousin Eric was nice enough to open up his place in Seaside to our craziness for a few days. We enjoyed a few walks on the beachside boardwalk, playtime on the beach and taking in the sealife and hysterical seals at the aquarium.

After a few days in Seaside, we moved down to Cannon Beach and were joined by my parents. Our good friends the Fehler's were also there for their annual trip and so we enjoyed time hanging out with them for a bonfire, exploring Haystack Rock, kite flying and more.

Thankfully, the weather was warmer and sunnier than last year. The mornings usually started out with clouds and fog, but usually by mid-day, when we were ready for an adventure, they rolled out and we had blue skies and sun.
