Hoppy Easter!

It was so fun to watch the kids get excited to find their eggs and discover their Easter bunny surprises this year. They partook in a hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Gable's on Saturday and then we did our own hunt on Easter morning. Chloe was surprisingly quick at discovering the eggs and Mason was pretty good at letting her find a few. :)

One of my favorite highlights of the day was hearing Mason say "I see God" as we drove into the church parking lot. It was actually Pastor Jim who had baptized Mason and was greeting the parishioners. Pastor Jim got quite a laugh when we told him.

From church, we headed to Papa and Grandma Sams' for Easter dinner with the Johnsen clan. It was a great day spent with family and experiencing yet another holiday through the eyes of the kids.

Mason Makes the Grade

It's hard to believe Mason's first year of pre-school is almost coming to an end. He's changed so much in a year. We've loved his pre-school, Creative Kids, and he's loved making lots of new friends and has really enjoyed his teachers. Every week, we get a newsletter with highlights of their week, and it was so fun when Mason came home with projects all about spring this week. Now, if the weather would only cooperate and actually act like spring.

In the last few months, Mason's class had a field trip to the Seattle Children's Theater to see Go Dog Go, had a visit from the local fire department to learn about fire safety, had pajama day with pancakes, dressed up like penguins as they studied winter and also had career day, to which Mason decided to dress up like a veterinarian.

Hi Blog, It's Been Way Too Long

Work and life have been pretty insane since the first of the year. Lots of traveling and busy weekends trying to keep up with the kids. In this craziness, the blog has become neglected so I'm trying to catch up. The next few posts will be highlights of the last few months. Our most recent adventure was a spring break trip to San Diego. The weather was great, about 20-25 degrees warmer than Seattle, and on most days, sunny. The kids loved the beach and LegoLand. We enjoyed some family strolls along the Oceanside boardwalk a few different mornings, lots of fun family dinners with Papa Chuck, Grandma Barb, Uncle Tim and soon-to-be Auntie Dani, and a fun visit with cousins Chad, Shawn, Nick and Cooper. Andrew and I even enjoyed a date night at this wonderful beach-side restaurant in Carlsbad, thanks to Chuck and Barb.
